TEST TW WEATHER

Storm update 6/16 pm

Crews were out again today clearing trees.  All town roads are fully open with a few exceptions of dead end roads with no permenant residents.  County Hwy W is still closed at 16594 due to a tree in power lines across the roadway.  While there is no estimated restoration time, I talked with a WPS field supervisor and clearing that tree should be a priority.

There are various houses and vehicles that were damaged due to falling trees.  No injuries have been reported.

High winds occured today, resulting in more trees falling.  If you come across a downed tree, please call the Doty road supervisor, Randy Siewert.  If it is on a live power line, stay clear and call 911.

The town hall will not be open as a shelter since there were very few people needing water or power and outside temperatures and humidities are favorable.  However, if you are in need of drinking water. contact the town chair (608-772-6098) during the day and he can arange to get you water.

Emergency Alert 04-01-2025: Power outages continue. The portion of the town south of the Town Hall is without power. There are also scattered outages in the rest of the town, mainly in the Star Lake area. WPS estimates all will have power by 7 pm on April 3rd. The town hall is open today until 8pm for warmth, water, shower facilities and electric power. We are evaluating the need to open tomorrow and Thursday. Other towns have shelters available too, check their websites. Several inches of snow are expected tonight, changing to rain in the morning. If trees come down, contact the chairman at 608 772-6098 or 911 if power lines are involved or it is life threatening.
