Winter Storm Update 12/23.  noon.

The high winds and cold temperatures will continue through the weekend, slowly improving on Sunday.  Plow crews will continue to try to stay ahead of the snow to keep the roads clear, but it is difficult.  Travel is not advised in many counties due to the cold and wind.

The recycle center will be CLOSED Saturday due to the expected cold and wind, blowing snow around.  The facility will reopen Wednesday with normal winter hours.

WPS has been responding to various power outages in the town (gennerally in the southern part of town) and surrounding areas.  The outages have been of short duration (2-3 hours) and quickly resolved.  If there are extended outages and the town hall is opened as a warming shelter, a seperate emergency alert will be sent out and posted on the website.
