The used oil tank at the town refuse site will remain closed for the foreseeable future.  Tank inspection found several leaks on the bottom seam.  Until the tank is replaced, any oil placed in the tank will simply leak out into the secondary containment.

Repair plans are being developed which include:

   Removal of remaining oil in the tank and containment

   Finding a suitable replacement tank  (original tank is from 1995 and no longer made)

   Removing enclosure over the containment

   Removing old tank

   Installing new tank and re-installing enclosure

Until the above steps are complete, no used oil can be collected
